The First Seventh-day Adventist Church of Montclair's primary goal, as characterized by its mission statement,
is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world and to help all who come to our fellowship grow into discipleship, reflecting the Divine Character of faith, hope and love.
Our vision seeks to fulfill this goal by building a center which emphasizes fellowship, bible study, worship and training for outreach ministries, for the transformation of families in Montclair and in its neighboring communities.
Many of the planned events seek to edify us individually and better prepare us to meet these goals, collectively.

Community Bike Blessing
Second Annual Community Bike Blessing on Apr 25, starting at 4:00pm. This event is sponsored by T.R.U.T.H. Riderz. The club will be riding to Lucky Strike Lanes & Lounge in West Nyack, NY. All riders are welcome to join in.

International Week of Prayer-Prayer Breakfast
Prayer breakfast will be held Sabbath Morning at 8:00am-9:15pm. All men, women and youth are welcome to join! 8:00 - Testimones of what God has done within our AEC conference and Columbia Union; 8:30 - Prayer and readings; 9:00 - refreshments in the Lower Church. The Source (AYS)
Calling all youth!!! The Source, formerly known as AY is back and better than ever!!! If you are between the ages of 12 and 18, join us @5:00pm every Sabbath, starting March 7, for an hour of fun interactive activities and programs, that wil help you grow closer to Christ and each other! Bring your Bible and a friend, and be prepared to get invloved! Our first program is entitled "Facing the Giants".

Kick-off Social
On March 7th starting @ 7:00pm there will be a meet and greet with other youth and AYS leaders! There will be lots of games, tournaments, food and sweets!! Be sure to come ready to have fun! We look forward to meeting you!

Youth Week of Prayer
From 3/15-21, the AY Department will be having its annual youth week of prayer entitled "A Prayer for Every Season". Each night @ 7:00pm (except Thurs), the young adults will be delivering dynamic sermons on the power of prayer and its importance to our personal growth! We invite you to come, bring a friend and grow closer to God, together through prayer! You will be enlightened as we study the different prayers in scripture and how to make them relevant to our lives!

Nat'l Black Wax Museum & Baltimore Aquarium trip
Social Committee is sponsoring trip to Baltimore, MD to Black Wax Museum & Aquarium. Join us for a day of fun and education. Cost: $30. Payment cutoff date is 3/21 as seats are limited. See Bro.Scott for more info.

Ministry Leadership Training 2009
Calling all department and ministry leaders and assistants! There willl be a training session held on Sunday, February 1 from 10am - 1pm at the Church of the Oranges, 270 Reynolds Terrace Orange, NJ. The presenters include our very own Pastor Paula Oliver, as well as Dr. Robert Kennedy, Dr. Raymond Edwards, and Dr. Norman Miles. This will be a creative ministry breakout session that is open to all but CRUCIAL to leadership. Please make a sincere effort to attend.

Valentine Day Cruise

Camp Meeting
Its time to make preparations for Camp Meeting 2009 (June 25-July 5). Applications to reserve a room on the camp grounds are available and must be mailed to the Allegheny East Conference no later than April 13, 2009. Please see Raamah Johnsopn for an application.

Super Bowl XLIII
The First SDA Church of Montclair will be the hosting facility to watch Superbowl XLIII (Aarizona Cardinas vs. Pittsburgh Steelers) on Sunday, Feb. 1st at 6:00pm. We invite all to come watch the pinnacle of the NFL post-season. We had a great time last year and will nknow this year will be just as great. We encourage all who would like to attend to contribute food or beverages for all to enjoy including:hips, dips, sandwiches, juice, soda, potato salad, macaroni salad, ice cream, baked ziti, etc. Doors open at 3:00pm (before Pre-game show). Music Committee
Praise Team meeting/rehearsal - immediately after church service on Feb 7, 2009. Please make arrangements to be able to stay and participate if you wish to be a part of this ministry.
Sanctuary Choir - rehearsal will begin Feb 7, 2009 promptly at 4:00pm
Musicians Meeting - will take place prompty after church service Feb 21, 2009. If you play piano, drums, bass trumpet etc. for the church, you must attend this meeting. Please let Sis. Roberts know if you are not able to attend.

Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN)
Starting Sunday, Feb 22, the First SDA Church of Montclair will once again host homeless families through IHN. This is a week where we show our brotherly love by helping families that are in need of a kind word, companionship, or just a listening ear. We are currently looking for volunteers for each evening. Please see Elder Chris Jones or Hortense Campbell for more info.
